I wrote this song whilst living in Salvador. It's about the journey of when I decided to get over my first love, despite our intense connection. Saudade means longing, loss, desire etc, & I felt captures my experience & feelings more fully in Portuguese than in English. Sometimes love sadly just doesn't work out, even if you both want it to. Factors like geographical distance, family responsibilities, & being at different points in your lives all play a part.

Check out the new music video on my YouTube. Filmed in the absolutely stunning national park, Chapada dos Verdadeiros near Brasilia, Brazil. I'd highly recommend a visit once it is safe to do so - incredible waterfalls and wilderness scenery as you'll see from the video. Produced by the amazing @anajuliaribas_ Hope you enjoy!

This is the original unplugged version (just vocals & ukulele). A reworked, more upbeat Brazilian Popular Music MPB arrangement (with guitar, bass, keys, percussion & flute) was released on the 26th January 2021. Instrumental arrangement recorded & produced in Salvador by two incredibly talented Brazilian friends @undersoncunha & @pedrofonseca.77 It was important to me to work with Brazilians on this, as I wanted the music to reflect a lot of the inner processing I did whilst living in the stunning Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, as well as honouring local talent.
